John Cloys, a native of Beaumont, Texas, has acquired an impressive range of performance experience while singing with some of the world's finest orchestras and choral ensembles. Mr. Cloys has sung with the Dallas Symphony, Dresden Philharmonic, Fort Worth Symphony, New Jersey Symphony, New York Philharmonic, Arlington Choral Society, American Boychoir, American Chamber Chorus, Denton Bach Society, Fort Worth Early Music, the Riga Dom Boys Choir, Southwestern Seminary Oratorio Chorus, the Texas Boys Choir, and the Turtle Creek Chorale. Mr. Cloys has appeared in numerous critically acclaimed operatic productions with the Fort Worth Opera, such as La Bohème, Turandot, and Tosca. Career highlights include the 3rd International Boys Choir Festival in Riga, Latvia, El Dia de Los Niños (Festival of the Children) in Mexico, and the Grand Opening of the Nancy Lee and Perry R. Bass Performance Hall with Carol Burnett, Fredrica Von Stade, and Van Cliburn. Most recently, Mr. Cloys attended the Tallis Scholars Summer School which included private vocal study, master classes, and concerts throughout England with Peter Phillips and members from the world renowned Tallis Scholars. In addition to being an accomplished classical singer, Mr. Cloys also has an interest in musical theatre. He has performed in various musicals with the Children’s Performance Company, the Beaumont Community Players, and the Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts. Currently, Mr. Cloys is a student at Westminster Choir College in Princeton and is working toward his Bachelor of Arts degree in Music with minors in American Studies and Arts Marketing. He studies voice with Elem Eley and regularly performs with the newly formed Westminster Williamson Voices. |
